We are one of the world?s largest and most efficient producers of silicon metal
and silicon-based alloys, with approximately 156,400 metric tons (MT) of silicon
metal capacity and 72,800 MT of silicon-based alloys capacity. Silicon metal,
our principal product, is used as a primary raw material in making silicone
compounds, aluminum and polysilicon. Our silicon-based alloys are used as raw
materials in making steel and ductile iron. We control the supply of most of our
raw materials and we capture, recycle and sell most of the by-products generated
in our production processes.
Our products are currently produced in four principal operating facilities
located in the United States, Brazil and Argentina. Additionally, we operate
