kaisha) under the Commercial Code of Japan. Formed through the merger between
Mitsubishi Tokyo Financial Group, Inc., or MTFG, and UFJ Holdings, Inc. on
October 1, 2005, we are one of the largest bank holding companies in the world
when measured by total assets. We are the holding company for The Bank of
Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd., or BTMU, Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking
Corporation, or MUTB, and Mitsubishi UFJ Securities Co., Ltd., or MUS.
On April 2, 2001, The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, Ltd., Mitsubishi Trust and
Banking Corporation, or Mitsubishi Trust Bank, and Nippon Trust Bank Limited
established MTFG to be a holding company for the three entities. Before that,
